Why couldn’t I stop my tears from coming?  I was looking at children living on the street in dirty clothes, sniffing something to get high.  All I could think was who will love them… who will love them… who will love them?  God says, “I love them.  My people will love them.  You will love them.”

We left 30 minutes later after giving them some hot tea, bread, and a gospel presentation.  I left feeling like our 30-minute presence there didn’t do anything.  I left feeling brokenhearted.  However, later that day the Pastor told us that we would be talking with them the rest of the week.  We were able to talk with them at length about the love and hope that Jesus offers.  We gave them food and new shirts.  We burned their drugs. The past week was probably the hardest ministry we’ve had so far.  I pray that the work that we started will continue after we’re gone.  I pray that the church would not let these boys slip through society, but that the church would love and care for these boys who desperately need to be loved.
