When I first started this blog, I said that I wanted to be honest… transparent… myself. I haven't written lately. A lot of times I feel as though I don't have much to say, but I recently talked with some of my mom's friends and encouraged me to write a blog. So here is me writing a blog.
God has blessed me in so many ways this summer. Even when I am feeling apathetic, I am encouraged by the work He is doing. So, what have I been up to this summer??
Well, on May 17th I moved back to Charlotte from Memphis. A sad day to leave such a sweet community, but I will always be grateful for the Fellows program… and it's great to be home for the summer before I leave for 11 months. Then a few short days later I left for Training Camp from May 21st- May 29th. It was so great to meet the family that I will be spending the next year with! Here's a link to a video to see a glimpse into our training camp.. click here!
Recently I started a job at a bakery and cafe. I really didn't expect to get a job this summer, but this one just kinda landed in my lap. All I can say is praise God… even if I do have to wake up at 4:30am!
As far as support raising goes, I have $5,576.75 of the $14,800 that I need… which means I have a little over $9,000 left to raise. A lot of times I feel overwhelmed by the effort and responsibility of support raising. BUT I am SO CLOSE to our launch deadline (the amount we need to actually leave the country in August*) So, I ask for continued prayer in support raising and the preparation of my heart. I am so thankful that God works through my weaknesses and failures.
Psalm 22:27-28, 30-31
"All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.
For the kingdom is the Lord's,
And He rules over the nations.
A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this."
(a verse my mom e-mailed me a few days ago) I pray that we will be a generation that will worship and declare His righteousness!
*August 2nd is the date that we meet in Washington DC to leave for World Race.
