This place we call home is anything but that,
Halfway across the world is where we reside.
Away from family away from friends,
Away from a home cooked meal and place of
FAMILIARITY
But with the absence of familiarity,
There is a presence of the
UNKNOWN
A presence of reliance, of vulnerability
And of full trust in the Lord
With no sense of it or future plan,
My Father draws me in closer
He whispers, “Don’t worry”, “I’ve got you”, and
“I’m never letting go”
Like a newborn baby, we must submit to our master
And cling to what is good
With childlike faith we love, we serve, and we persevere
We run this race of life until we cross the finish line.
The path is long, the path is bumpy, and the path is treacherous
But the path is worth it
The blood, sweat, and tears of Christ
Will never compare to our earthly sufferings
He deserves our EVERYTHING
While holidays and Sundays are good
We must realize that Christ is our LIFE,
Our heart, our purpose for being
Nothing here on earth will give us the fulfillment
Of the Lord Jesus, our Almighty Savior
No relationship, no hobby, no job, and
No amount of money
Can quench the thirst that our [soul longs for]
So let go and let God
Open up your eyes to the world around you
Don’t let your world become so small that you miss out on
LIFE
It’s there, you just have to be brave enough to
LIVE IT.
India. A place where all of your senses are put to the test. Your eyes can barely take in all of the color, action, and people around you. Your nose cannot distinguish that foul smell you caught a whiff of as you were driving down the road. Your ears can barely handle the blare of horns on the street, but rejoice in the sound of new believers worshipping and rocking out with their tambourines and drums. Your taste buds can barely handle the spice of the curry at each meal, but still enjoy the challenge. Your hands will always remember the touch of the village children grabbing your hand and walking with you as you go door to door praying for their community.
It was a challenging month, but a growing month for me as well. The week of diarrhea was rough, but being able to travel village to village preaching the Word and share my testimony made it worth it. Not getting home until midnight every night was exhausting, but waking up early to be able to baptize my first sister in Christ was worth it. Eating the same food every single day was repetitive, but being blessed by families who work so hard and already have so little was worth it.
My time in India has come to a close and my squad and I will be travelling to Nepal in a couple of days. I am excited to announce that my team will be doing Unsung Heroes again next month while in Nepal. This is a month where we will be travelling around the country praying and seeking guidance from the Lord to lead us to potential future contacts. So, if you do have any connections or contacts in Nepal please message or email me! Month 5 has come and gone and our hallway mark is quickly approaching. Crazy!! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and cherish the ones you love. God bless and geaux tigers!
