Highlights from December in Costa Rica: Answered Prayer
A good deal of our time was invested in construction on Four Square Church. We spent hours sanding rusty beams then painting them and later installing them for a new roof. It is very easy to feel that sanding rusty beams is not ministry.
Towards the end of our stay in Costa Rica our pastor gave us a goodbye dinner and shared with us how we were an answered prayer. I thought they were words of flattery but with tears he went on to explain how the church had the materials for the much needed new roof but they had no idea how they would build it. We came along and were able to provide around 8hrs per day of free labor for a few weeks. It made all the difference and because we were not scheduled to work with Four Square Church we were literally an answered prayer that appeared out of nowhere. God is always working whether we can see it or not and sometimes, maybe more than we think, we get to be the answers to prayers!
