We went to Turkey to work with a budding church in a really small city-town.

Pictured above is a mosque where we heard the call to prayer several times a day. We were in west Turkey, where less people who took religion seriously.

Our team, Taza was so blessed to stay in one place for 3weeks. We had our own apartment where we shared meals, songs and late night giggles!!! We even shared a clothing closet with everything (minus undergarments). One night, I got to introduce my team to “Benny & Joon” on the projector.

It was the first time in a while on the race where it felt like real life, living with roomates in America and not moving around every few days. We had a lot of time to share dreams with one another, work on art, make great food, and catch up with people back home.

We had study conducted by our house one night of the week.

Our main ministry focus was a video project we were doing for the pastor, which Alyssa mostly worked on, since she had the experience and equipment. That took up quite a bit of time, but we also had a lot of prayer, worship in the parks, meeting girls in the town and inviting them over for dinner, or going to have coffee with them, also encouraging one of the believers we met.

We became good friends with one of the woman who came to the bible study. We got to be a part of her babtism!!!

Her daughter and husband still need a revelation from the Lord. Please pray.

And as far as the other Turkish people in that town know, she is one of the only professing believeers she knows there. As a Christian, imagine living like that.

We went to several other surrounding areas to explore with the pastor and our host (who lived and ran a church over an hour away).

2 of the places we fieldtripped were, Assos and Troas, ruins of the places Paul and Luke hung out.

Please read more about our host’s life in a blog my teamate Kailey (click here) wrote.

After our time in the small city we went to Istanbul, so we could bus and train out to Athens. (Which is where I am writing you from right now)

In Istanbul we celebrated Lennies 24th bday, visited the international house of prayer, I got a root canal done, and we had some great apologetic conversation with some people we met on the street.

GOD did a lot in our hearts and provided awesome opportunities for us to connect with the people around us. HE really answers prayer and cares for us. He is living and active and desires to be more involved in your life, even the little details.
