Leaving the Stans, the squad and I
took a 3 day fancy sleeper bus from Almaty, Kazakstan to Aktau port to hop on the freighter.

Here is my teamate Ariel.^^^

When we were told at our last Deberief in Nepal that we would be traveling on a freight ship across the Caspian Sea–

In my mind what that looked like was us waiting around in this ship yard, and once the ship was full, running to get on, pitching our tents and sleeping inside of empty boxes as we crossed the sea. Basically train-hopping over the sea.
I naturally was excited, looking forward to the experience of a rocky sea, a soot coverd face, rough sailor folk and the unknown.

But that was far from what it was like.

My squadmate and giggle buddy Heidi made another awesome video (that I am featured in a lot) if you want to check out some footage from our bus and ship ride, click here.

And here is another video of the travel that my team mate Alyssa made. Watch here.

The peacful sea and quite time on deck was a great reprieve from the busstle of constant travel.

While on board, we got to meet the captin, hang out with some of the crew. And even pray over and share songs with some of them!!!

Here is my squadmate staring into the sunset. Beauty for Ashleys

We were fed 3 meals a day (which worked out great as the tickets were sort of expensive, and we didnt bring enough food for the duration ofour time at sea).

I had some of the best sleep this whole race on that ship!!!!

I love sailing lifes seas with You.

Its cheesy but true.

(I could see myself living on a ship)

On the day we ported the crew gatherd what dessert they had in the kitchen (a crispy chocolate bar) and brought it out and used matches as candles. That is how we celebrated JDs birthday!!

God is so good.
