Hola from Espana!
It’s time for an update, isn’t it? Well…I’m happy to report…all is well!
Thanks for caring and wondering. I hope this update gives a good glimpse into what my 30 days in Spain have been so far.
I’m deeply grateful to God and to those that have helped make this possible. This is truly a GIFT. A HUGE GIFT. I am profoundly reminded of that daily while I am here. For the weeks or months I have remaining here, I am soaking up each day and living it to the fullest, to capture all that God has.
I’ll keep the rest of this short. We all want to get to the pictures, right?! So do I. Let’s go!
- Overall, I am well! Amen. Time here is good. Some lows, many highs.
- Schooling…Going to class each day Monday-Thursday. There’s 19 of us, and about 10 staff. It’s a leadership program. Each week is a new teacher and a new topic. I love the variety. My mind and heart is learning a lot! 100 pages of notes probably.
- Giving…Sharing and helping others at times. I’m not in a ‘official’ role here, but I enjoy passing off my lessons learned, skills, and sharing experiences.
- Consulting…a new ministry team startup, going to Uganda.
- Friending…Making new friends! All good people here…I’m enjoying making new memories.
- Resting…yes! Getting personal time in. It’s helping me process and move forward healthily from the past.
- Beaching!…I’ve been 2 or 3 times. It’s only 15 minutes away. ‘The Mediterranean don’t play!’
- Reading again…I love to read.
- Journaling…processing.
- Missing…family, friends, and Guatemala: friends, ministry, food, so many parts of it. Missing the access to those in poverty, because of the needs and closeness to people. My prayers are with them.
- Not missing…being sick with parasites and bacteria. My heart is with the Guatemalans each day though, the one’s going through sickness and pain right now.
- Missing…my dog, a lot! Meesh-peesh!
- Rejoicing…from afar…my brother is getting married in March, and my sister is pregnant with twins!
- Natureing…Nature is my good good friend, I get outside and enjoy it as much as possible.
- Climbing…Learning to rock climb. Yes!
- Worshipping…Worshiped in the square on Halloween night, to give God glory and share His love with people. A light shined in Spain that night!
- Visiting…Catching up with friends who live here, that I did ministry with over the past 6 years.
- Touristing…Did 2 tourist days, one in Granada, and one in Malaga – to Picasso’s Home and Art Museum.
- Shaking…My hips can now salsa dance! For real. I don’t know what happened but I think I picked up the ability to dance my people’s dance!
- Joying…Lost parts of my smile and laughter have returned.
- Dreaming…Looking forward to what’s next. I am starting to get ‘vision’ and sight again for the future.
- Creating…Look out for my NEW BLOG/WEBSITE – it’s coming soon!!!
That’s good for now…here’s pictures…
Oh – and, if you at all feel led, I am about $1,000 short of what I need to complete my stay here for December. I’m looking into how I can work, make money, while I’m here. But any gift, provision, is deeply appreciated. If so – my AIM account is still open, you can click the Donate button on this website and it’ll work.
