GREETINGS/BUENAS DIA!

Here are the top 5 highlights from the Winter season.

(In Guatemala it’s actually the hot season. Rainy season comes for the next 6 months:)

  • STOVES
    • We installed our first stove. Youth from Casa Alleluya Children’s Home installed the stove, into Domingo’s house, our gardner and friend. The family can now breath safely, and minimize risk of sickness and early death. The new stove has a pipe where the smoke leaves from the roof. They were so happy!

  • VISITING NEW MINISTRIES
    • “Hearts in Action” – Jungle School
      • Hundreds of kids from the northern Peten region of Guatemala are bused to this Christian school. Started by Suzanne and her husband, we hope to send teams to them, and help bring hope through worship times, teachings, and outings.

    • “Mobilizing Students”
      • “If you build it they will come.” – Field of Dreams
      • This is what Mitch & Amanda are doing – house visits, children bible studies, and making jewelry with the women to sell for income. They will be hosting an AIM team next month, and we hope to build our friendship and help grow their ministry.

    • “Wisdom & Grace”
      • 60 kids gave their hearts to God last year, they now have a church. And we are now part of helping Rudy and Lauren in their efforts. (Many of them live off of 2 or 3 dollars a day – these red uniforms they cherish and take care of so closely).

  • BEAUTY 4 ASHES – RETREATS
    • Reaching Mayan women – from abused & hurt, to forgiven and whole.
    • Our staff helped the AIM Team with 2 retreats. We have requests to take this into numerous villages and places all through out Guatemala.

  • CGA (Center for Global Action)
    • We now have a ‘school.’ American students live with us for a Semester or more, study Orphan Care, and Apprentice with us in our work.
    • 3 Students and 1 Leader this Winter Semester. It’s been a home run!

  • VILLAGE OF HOPE / SHOES
    • The Block family started this ministry, where they have 4 homes on their property, of children either abandoned, with HIV, or from other causes. They have Guatemalan parents, and keep the families small.
    • Elizabeth is their newest addition, 11 days old – praying over her, she needs brain surgery.
    • They are in need of shoes, which we are starting to organize a campaign to provide shoes for these children and others.

  • BONUS
    • WORSHIP NIGHT at the BASE for the community. A beautiful night.
