It’s Friday and the weekend is here!

I’ll be taking a solo retreat with God. I try and do this every year. It’s my tithe and offering to Him. To set the tone for the year, listen to Him, and press into what vision He has for my life for the year.
I recommend you do this, in some manner or form. Take a day or two, get alone by yourself with the Lord, and listen to him. Turn off the phone, don’t turn on the computer, put away the Facebook feed updates, and get back to the basics with Him. It’s SO good.
Then on Monday, off to Cambodia, back on Sunday. I’ll spend the week with B Squad. I oversee this squad as they are in month 4 of their Missionary journey. This is a time of debriefing their past, and casting vision for the future. Worship times, preaching, teaching, leader training and development, and refreshment for these 50+ missionaries.
I’ll also get to be with the Cambodia Team, 10 ladies living long term in Phnom Penh. I was with them last September, and what a blessing it is to go back and be with them and minister to their lives, even if for just a short time.
Finally, read below some stories from our generation, their missionary adventures. I don’t know about you, but this completely inspires me and my faith. It reminds me of bible times. How God is still active and moving in the nations. Here in America we might not see, get, or understand things like healings or demons, things that happen around the world. But this gives us a sneak peak into what happens out ‘there.’ And yep, it happens here too!
If anything, it’s the freedom that these young adults are experiencing. Not themselves living for the world, their flesh, or in evil, but rising up to lift up HIGH the name of JESUS. For salvation, hope, and freedom for souls. THAT’s what get’s me excited! Jesus being glorified, out there, here, and everywhere!
– Kristen Aperfine is the squad leader on W squad who wrote  a few weeks ago about healing Fea.  The morning after praying over Fea and seeing God miraculously heal her, Fea went back to her old ways.  Kristen has since wrestled with the Lord about what happened.  While she doesn’t know the answers to most questions, here’s what she resting on to be true in the midst of  uncertainty:

“I have prayed and asked God why, why she was healed that night, why she wasn’t in the morning. Why through all of our faith, no lasting difference remained. After much prayer I am certain of the Lords love for her and for us and certain that he is FAITHFUL and miracles are 100% possible…  I believe our God is a healing God. I believe He has given us the AUTHORITY and POWER to Heal the Sick, Raise the Dead and Cast out Demons. I believe we can do these things in His name. I saw Fea healed that night, I saw her walk with little help, I saw her drooling stop, and I saw her limbs loosened. I saw these things that we prayed for in the name of Jesus happen. I don’t have all the answers and it BREAKS my HEART to know that God has so much more for her life than she is experiencing right now.”

– Jamos Mitchell, from W squad, is currently in Mozambique where he met and prayed for a woman with a spinal injury.  When he first met her, she was wrapped in cloth on the floor with little mobility or awareness.  When she moved around, her entire body would spasm.  The team began praying for her and Jamos felt the Spirit in the moment.  He knew with faith that God was going to heal her.  When the team got done praying, she didn’t show any immediate improvement.  Jamos left that day, so excited for when he would return and see her again.  Here’s what happened when he returned:

“Our team was off again visiting homes in the day and outreach at night.  We went back to the house with the woman on the floor. Guess what? She was not on the floor with sickness anymore. She was HEALED! And we got to meet her husband and pray thanksgiving over her! Next, we found ourselves at a baby dedication party (lots of singing and dancing with the newborn child…) and I looked up and THERE SHE WAS! The woman who had the spine injury! She was laughing and dancing and was totally healed!!!”

– A racer from one of the January squads that just launched experienced healing in his own body this week!  Here’s straight from his own mouth:

“My knees used to be like a 80 year old man’s knees just from wake boarding, snowboarding and football but they are now healed and I don’t have pain in them anymore.  Can we celebrate that? BOOM!  Personal healing has also been a very big faith booster for me and God really opened my eyes to this new faith in him.  A faith that is just without doubt and its pretty awesome.”

– Here is an awesome blog from Caitlin Roberson, on E squad, in El Salvador.  There was a man in the community where they are ministering who was killed and a close friend of his was really struggling.  Her team had the opportunity to go to his house and as they prayed for him, he had tears in his eyes and accepted Jesus as his Savior!  It is a powerful story about how God is always saving, restoring and giving LIFE and life to the fullest!  Check it out!http://caitlinroberson.theworldrace.org/?filename=a-murder-that-saved-a-life

– Jessica Robbins, from the A squad, writes about getting back to the basics of healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons.  Read more about her experiences this week in Tanzania here:  jessicarobbins.theworldrace.org/?filename=waitits-not-about-me

“The past week and half the Lord has used me to help cast out demons, share the gospel and actually lead people to salvation. Yes, you read that first one correctly.  :)….Today, as I’m writing this, I’ve already had the opportunity to see my teammate lead a woman who is married to a Muslim man to salvation, pray for a Christian woman whose husband isn’t a believer and is having an affair, encourage a young man that claims to know Jesus to step up and be a powerful man of God in his community, share Jesus with a Muslim lady and lead a young woman in a prayer for salvation. All of that took place before lunch today and those are only the stories from 2 of us of my team of 7.”

– Thomas Wensil was in Chiang Mai this last week and had an amazing experience with some other men from B squad.  There they were, five guys walking down the street of the red light district, and the Spirit showed up as they began praying like crazy men!

“We decided to stop about halfway down the street and pray out over the ministry that was taking place.  What happened next was crazy!  Five guys circled in prayer over Thailand, enslavement, red light districts and for an outpouring of the Spirit.  All noise, commotion and business washed away in that moment.  I even noticed while we stood there circled up, I never once got bumped by the ongoing walking traffic.  Afterwards, we all stood there laughing for a moment talking about how the noise was silenced and the only thing we could hear were the prayers being lifted up.  hah so cool!  That lead into some “whoa, whoas” and some worship songs, only to look up and find that we were praying right in front of a Buddhist temple.  God works in crazy ways and it takes stepping out of the box and comfort zone to realize exactly how He moves.”

– Jamie Smucker, from E squad, shares about the miraculous taking place during one of his first weeks of ministry.  Walking along the street, he and his team met Tonito, a man paralyzed in his legs and suffering from migraines.  Tonito is completely forgotten by society and without any hope.  The team gathered around him, prayed over him and began speaking into his life.

“We gathered round him and began blessing him, and speaking life into him. Sara, a local who is working with is in ministry, explained the gospel to him and what Christ did for us, then asked him if he wants to accept Jesus into his life. He said, “Yes”!  He bows his head and repeats a prayer after Sara repenting of his sins, and surrendering his life to Jesus Christ!  After the prayer he lifts his head, a smile replaces a look of dejection, and a sparkle chases out the hopelessness in his dark brown eyes.  A miracle has just taken place! Greater than any blind eye seeing, deaf ear opening, and dead being raised to life, is the greatest miracle of God taking His life, and placing it inside of the human body!  We asked for healing in his body, for relief from his migraines, bought him lunch, took up a little offering him, and went on our way, thanking God for replacing hopelessness, with hope, and sadness with joy.”

Just another crazy day on the race!  Read more here: http://jamiesmucker.theworldrace.org/?filename=the-man-with-the-rusty-blue-wheelchair
