I’m Home!
Yep, in Simi Valley, California. I arrived on June 3rd. Surprised my mom on her last day of kindergarten teaching. A great moment. It’s now been 10 days being ‘home.’
However, I am not sure what is next, where home is, what work I’ll be doing, or much 🙂 But, that’s okay.
The Spirit has spoken to me the words from psalm 131 “STILLED AND QUIETED MY SOUL.”
So that’s what I’m doing. I’m resting. I’m sleeping more than 4-5 hours a night. I’m exercising at the gym. Visiting friends from all over Southern California. Spending time with family. Lot’s of me and spirit time. Letting myself get refreshed, re-filled, and re-energized.
But all of this takes listening. So I’m listening lots.
As far as the final days on the race….wow, what a roller coaster ride. check this out:
– Said goodbye to T Squad – hard. They’re my community. I miss them. (Gentlemen to bed, for tomorrow we rise…:)
– Flew about 30 hours in the air. In 3 days traveled from Swaziland to South Africa to Switzerland to Chicago to Atlanta. Phew (I love flying though:)
– Debriefed in Georgia. Got prayed into, hung out with M Squaders
– Said bye to my co-leader and friend, Hollis.
– Arrived in LA – great family time. Even got to see ‘Beauty and the Beast’ production my nephew Michael was in.
– Slept 2 days straight.
– Got in a ‘funk.’ The transition was hard on my soul and spirit.
– Out of the main ‘funk’ then started hanging out with friends, family, and really letting the spirit heal my heart.
Being home is great. I have such great friends and family here.
But the world has literally been my home for the past few years.
So I miss it out there. And I miss the race community. It’s uniquely lonely at times.
But overall, I’m at peace mostly, in joy, and falling in love with God in a whole new way in this new season 🙂
I’ll update again soon. Just wanted to let all of you, my amazing supporters, know what is going on.
