Emma Leigh Elizabeth Block
Born March 15, 2015.
Went Home April 16, 2015.
This blog post and summary cannot do justice to what her life meant and the impact she had. Emma Leigh Block passed away 31 days after she was born.
Addisyn Block took her into her arms at 10 days old and became her Mom. Emma was left at the hospital, abandoned. It was evident she had a medical issue. The Block family received the phone call. They quickly new they were to take this little child into their lives.
After saying yes, they found out she had Hydranencephaly, leving her with only 10% of her brain. But Emma Leigh would soon become known not for her disease.
Addisyn took her in as her own. She went to court hearings, medical appointments, and fought on Emma Leigh’s behalf. Emma couldn’t speak, but her mom had a voice that was powerfully fighting for her in love.
Emma never left the arms of Addisyn and everyone around her. We were all able to hold her, sing over her, buy her little clothes, feed her, and make sure she knew she was loved.
The world came to know Emma Leigh (Lizzy) slowly but surely. People’s hearts gravitated towards this little one. Through facebook updates, pictures, and many prayers – Emma Leigh began to teach everyone a little bit more about love.
On April 16th, 2015, Emma Leigh Elizabeth Block woke up that morning in the arms of her Father.
Our hearts were broken. That day we all gathered around to celebrate her life. The Block family and Village of Hope gave Emma Leigh a beautiful ceremony, and many people were with them that day in Spirit, from all around the world.
She might have been on earth for only 31 days, but her life was lived so well.
She did not say one word, but she spoke to us through love.
She only had a small portion of her brain, but she filled all of our hearts to the full.
She had a mom and family that adopted her in their hearts, she had family.
She brought this world closer together, she will never be separated from us.
She is with her Father in Heaven, She is in our hearts forever.
