Hello!
For this blog, I want to answer a few questions that I received from my prompt on Instagram. This is good news, because I feel pretty drained mentally from a hards night sleep, and the hot, heavy, and humid air of Myanmar. So this will take some of the work out of it for me.
Question: “What will you do after the race?”
My Answer:
Well, It’s the Lords will in my life (James 4:13). So I have a few options. I may sign up for a G42 program and live in Spain for 6 total months, and then 3 months in the field again.
I really want to explore the depths of Patagonia. So I might take a trip to South America. I’ll have to save up a little first, and so I’ll cover job options in another paragraph below.
I desire to become completely fluent in Spanish, and pursue photography further. So, I might take a few community college classes in order to do that. Also, I think it would be fun to take a entry level culinary class.
If I need to get a job, which i wouldn’t mind, then I desire to work as a barista somewhere, and figure out to do that, while simultaneously saving up money. I am passionate about picking up jobs that teach you a trade at the same time. It’s free training, and it pays.
I’ll definitely help out the church in ways that I can. I especially want to pursue worship leading. Not just leading, but musically involving myself however I can. If I could do something outside the church, and outside the box, that’d be ideal. The Lord has gifted me with some talents, that I’m excited to use.
There’s a possibility for me to go to Oman, and check out the base there. It’s a great opportunity, and I would be super blessed to go, however I would need to fundraise about $4,000. I’ve been reluctant to fundraise thus far, because I feel bad asking for money. However, if you feel called, then please contact me!
Question: “How have you grown through your missional experiences?”
My Answer:
I honestly feel like a completely different person. It’s hard to describe spiritual transformation, but it’s easy to see. I’ve learned how to love others right here. Not just the right way, but above and beyond. I’ve learned my limitations, and grown in self awareness to a degree that I never imagined. I’ve said it before, but I’m most excited to come home, and pour myself out for others. I want to share the treasure that I’ve found. To sum all of it up, I think I’ve just learned how to walk in the spirit. I’ve also become dependent on it, for all things. (Romans 8:1).
Question: “Who has made the biggest impact on you during the race?”
My Answer:
I just answered this one the other day, so it’s fresh on my mind, I would say that my squad leader Caleb has been most impactful. I could rant about how he’s just a great guy, but there’s something more specific. Caleb has super natural love for those around him. Not only has he prophesied over me two of the times that impacted me the most, but he is a living transmission of the Holy Spirit. It’s funny to say this, but I think he has an emotional IQ higher than anyone I’ve ever met. These are great feats of virtue, but also Caleb is a friend. He’s taught me so much about myself, and other people. Caleb doesn’t lead people to be the best like him, he leads them to be the best of their own potential. He’s really taught me how to love others, and how to do the difficult things. We have had a couple uncomfortable conversations, and that’s where I’ve grown the most. I’m now learning how to reflect these things to others.
This is all I got for now! Sorry if I didn’t answer your question!
Thanks for reading!
