Phyo ngwe soe
That’s my nickname in Burmese. Here in Myanmar they gave us nicknames based on actors. My name translated literally means “plenty very bad”.
moments of universal stillness are where I desire be. It’s what I desire to bring.
Today while reading Ecclesiastes, I had a moment like this.
A moment where I realize what I am
What I’ve been
Forgetting the reality I created.
My eyes are renewed
The dust settles further
I see my natural face in the mirror
I see what God sees
I am released
The Lord has reminded me how useless everything is.
I have known, but have I believed? Over these weeks, I have been fighting subtly for things that I don’t even need. Isn’t that the cycle?
We work so hard to build these structures for ourselves. Whether it’s a job, a pleasure, or a curiosity, we work so diligently at completing this monument. Halfway through our creation and pursuit, we realize that we’ve been building on sand. Looking below our worldly ideals, and crooked self preserving morality, we realize that there is absolutely nothing supporting it. We build ourselves these houses of comfort in the sand.
We collect fortunes, to die and release them
Today the Lord has saved me from this cyclical prison that I created. It wasn’t the first time by any means. Anytime that I find myself tangled in a pit of anxiety, the Lord brings me right to his word, and shows me the platinum staircase leading back up to dry ground.
That’s what deliverance is. That’s what strength is. So often we expect a supernatural or divine interaction of deliverance, when it’s physically with us. It’s the word of God.
“Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
John 6:68 NIV
How may I know if I have not heard?
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lorid will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!””
Romans 10:13-15 NIV
We can’t believe in what we do not know. How can we claim to love God, yet ignore reading his word? It is written that the word of God IS God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1 NIV
I hope I can share my story, along with a conviction that will bring you closer to Christ.
