This week has been a little more calm as we have all settled into our new environment and have adapted well to everything. But this week has also been a little different than last week. A group from Costa Rica came here on Thursday for a convention that CICRIN (the orphanage I’m staying at) put together. So the place my group and I have been sleeping at is not normally where mission groups stay when they come stay here but since our group is so small they allowed us to stay in the rooms we have been in. But since this group of people came here for the convention our hosts wanted them to stay in these rooms because they were only going to stay from Thursday-Monday. So my group went up and stayed in the mission house and it has been an adventure. We have currently seen 5 tarantulas and they aren’t something everyone wants to live with everyday. In one of the bathrooms there are two wasp nests with wasps flying around everywhere. And the mission house is a decent walk so just walking to and from there in this Central America heat you’re no doubt going to sweat. But my group is adaptable to any circumstance and we have handled everything really well. But other than the moving it has been a very awesome week of serving the Lord and helping the orphanage with whatever needs they have. But yesterday on Saturday we visited the other side of the island which also has a volcano on it. We stayed at a hostal overnight and swam at the beach during our off day. But the coolest part was that an American missionary named Tom who moved to the island in 2003 came and picked us up and showed us his house. He spent two years building his house and he slept in a tent outside while he built it. He’s a great man who has spent his whole live spreading the love of Jesus to others and that is really special. But we are back at CICRIN now and about to start another week and I can’t wait share more stories with y’all in a week from now!
