Hello everyone!
As many of you know, my wife Cathy and I are leaving Whirlpool at the end of the year and going on an 11 month missions trip. This adventure is going to take us all over the world! You can click here for a list of our destinations.
The two of us are departing on January 3rd and will be meeting up with 52 others who are going on this missions trip with us. These people come from all over the US and Canada, and are just as crazy as we are! Of the 54 going, 7 of us make up Team Indelible. We have been responsible for raising $28,000 for this trip ($14,000 a piece) which will cover our flights, food, lodging, transportation, internet, translators, and everything else we’ll need to stay alive in these countries. It may sound like a lot, but when you break it down – we’re going to be living on a meager $7 a day! That’s how much I spend for dinner here in the US, and now I am going to have to stretch it to include other meals and lodging! Talk about a challenge!
We have currently raised $7628 for our trip. We need to have half of our total ($14,000) before we can even leave the country. This means that we still need $6372 before January 3. It does sound like a lot, doesn’t it? The truth is that every little bit counts toward this goal. You think $5 is too little to donate? That will cover all my meals for a day!
I went ahead and added many of you to my web site’s email list. This means that every time I make an entry on here, you will receive an email letting you know that I’ve done that. This way, you can “travel” with us around the world and share in our experiences. If this doesn’t interest you, you can easily remove your name from the list by clicking here. It’s that simple.
I am not going to lie, we need you guys. I don’t even know some of you that well, but we need you too. I would never even think to ask someone to give if they didn’t want to, and I am still not going to do so. It’s a choice that you have to make. All I ask is that you think about it, and decide if it’s the right thing for you to do. I believe with every fiber of my being that this money will come in, and that it will come in in time. While we’re out on our trip, we’ll need the other $14,000 to come in, but you know something? I am 100% certain it will come in then too. We not only need financial support, but we need prayer support as well. The power of prayer is an amazing thing and will carry us further than money ever will. Prayer will make the money appear when we need it. It will bring the people into our path who really need to hear the Good News we are sharing. It will get us from point A to point B when we have no way to get there. It’s our survival on this trip.
One more thing – we want to hear from each and every one of you. Yes, that means you! Cathy and I are going to be in slums for a majority of the next year. We want to hear what the latest baseball scores are. We want to know about the promotion you got. We want to grieve with your loss.
