Hi everyone! I am currently sitting on the porch of the green house, one of the three buildings that the team is living in.
Our living conditions are actually quite good – we have electricity about 12 hours a day and running water some of the time.
If there’s no running water, we have a bucket we can use to douse ourselves. The water can be a little cold! The days have
been a little hot and we’ve had lots of sun. At this point we’re still in the little city of San Juan, learning little by little what this year will be like. On Saturday, we will be traveling south to a town of Asua, which is closer to the water and about 2 hours from Santo Domingo. We’ll be meeting up with our contact later this week, but it sounds like we will be doing some church planting (starting new churches in the area). It should be a lot of fun, and I hope we can get some swimming in!
all there is here! I feel fine and am embracing the culture – it’s a neat place to be. People are friendly and open, and we’ve
already made friends with our neighbors. There is definite poverty here, but it doesn’t bother me at all – I am just excited to be here.

I miss everyone at home, but this is without a doubt the place I need to be. I am certain that the Lord will change me on this
adventure, and that I will never be the same. I am curious to see what that change will be. Hopefully, we will be able to
change the world as well!
I will write again from Asua if we are able – stay tuned!
