It says in Proverbs 16:9 that “In his heart a
men plans out his ways but the Lord guides his steps”, the last 4 years has proved
to me that this is very much true. When I came home from Capernwray in 2008, it
was my plan to head back to England to do ministry or head off to Bible School
to get some more training. However, God seemed to have another plan. Now, four
years later, I am graduating from CSU
with a Religious Philosophy Major and an English minor, and God is once
again guiding my steps in a much different direction than I had in mind.
As I look at it now it only makes sense. I’ve
spent the last four years studying world religions and now I am preparing to
partner with a ministry that will allow me to share Christ with the people who
believe in those religions. I have an 11
month 11 country journey ahead of me, in which I will be doing ministry in
almost any form and place you can imagine.
– Campus ministries
– Digging wells
– Orphanages
– Human trafficking
– Construction
– Evangelism
– Teaching
– Discipling
– Deserts of Africa
– Mountains of Nepal
– Coasts of Australia.
– Streets of Eastern Europe
– Jungles of Asia
I will become all things to all people that I
might save some for the gospel (1 Cor. 9:20-23)
I very excited for this opportunity and yet I
am also overwhelmed and intimidated by it. I’ve never done a trip as in depth
as this one. In fact I’ve never done third world missions before, but I am
trusting that God will supply me with the wisdom and strength that I will need
.
I have already begun to
talk with some of my teammates across the country that will be joining me for
the 11 months, and it’s been so great to enjoy their fellowship. We will have
around 60 other racers joining us on
our route but we will be splitting into teams
of 5 to 7 when we arrive in each country. Each team could be participating
in completely different ministries and most likely will be in different places
in each country. Even housing and food will vary place to place, though our
normal settings will probably be a tent and sleeping bag while we live
