Often times when I am writing these blogs I feel that I must give some divine revelation to you as my readers and sponsors. That I must show you some sort of personal breakthrough so that you I can assure you that I am growing in great ways and the whole trip has been worth it.

But to be frank.. that’s not how this trip has been. If you were to ask my what my big revelation for this trip would be it would be hard to narrow it down. There are so many different things. Big breakthroughs, small victories, new habits, answered prayers scattered throughout, that pretty much sums it all up. Maybe that’s just it though. Maybe that’s the big breakthrough in all of it.

It’s all about just living life, living the Christian life that is. Learning to listen to those ever so small promptings and whispers of the Lord, that we all too often ignore. G-d spoke to Elijah in the whisper, not the storm, not the flood, not the fire or the wind… the whisper. Honestly we hear it more often then we admit. My experience has shown that at least for me, G-d doesn’t speak in these profound revelations. He just speaks in little nudges. Things like… ‘go talk to that man’, ‘hold that boys hand’, ‘get that guy some food’ ‘ask your teammate about his testimony’ ‘tell her about what you read in the scripture this morning’.

Nudges.

Small little whispers of guidance.

Listening

That’s how G-d uses us. That’s how we grow how we change. You don’t need 11 months across the world to start doing that.

You just have to sit.

Be still

Listen

Don’t reason away what you know in your heart G-d is asking you to do. Maybe the man begging on the street wouldn’t have to beg if he got a job. Maybe he will use the money wrong if you gave him some. Maybe he won’t understand that your buying him lunch because you want him to know Christ. But G-d isn’t asking you to make sure he gets it. He is asking you to share… to give… to love. Leave the rest up to Him.

I want to upload some photos but my internet is too slow here. Hopefully I can get a good connection too!
