And so it Begins…

Well here we go. I have just finished a 14 hour flight from Chicago to Hong Kong and now we are waiting for the next 5 hours in the airport for our plane from here out to Kuala Lampur. That will be about 3 hours, then another 6 hours waiting for a train and a 5 hour train ride and ending with a short ferri or taxi ride to our final resting place in Penang Malaysia with YWAM!

It feels like a dream at moments. I can't believe I have the privilege to do a trip like this.

We had our first little hiccup with logistics. Our airline didn't want to let us go at first since we hadn't purchased tickets to leave the country yet.  Word on the street is that they can get fined if they fly people in who attempt to stay, so they are told to ask for documentation of departure. Unfortunately for us we haven't purchased those tickets yet, but with the Lords help, Leanne and I were able to figure out how to get out of there.

I didn't sleep a whole lot on the plane but I was able spend the time seat hopping and getting to know some of my squad mates a little better. I also  spent some time reading All of Grace by Charles Spurgeon. What an amazing man of G-d, he writes in such a way as to help you truly grasp the weight of G-ds never-ending grace upon us. I'll leave you with a few of his quotes.

"A sinner is a sacred thing; The Holy Ghost hath made him so."

"Do not attempt to touch yourself up and make yourself something other than you really are; but come as you are to Him who justifies the ungodly.
"

"I venture to say that a sinner justified by God stands on even a surer footing than a righteous man justified by his works, if such there be."
