Yet another late night word vomit brought to you by yours truly.

A journey that I’ve been on for a while now is learning what it is to be satisfied in the Lord. Being satisfied means being fulfilled, pleased, or content. You don’t need anything more than what you have right in front of you. I think for me it’s easy to be overcome by the common thoughts of the world today. “I want this item because I need to keep up on the trends,” or “I want the latest iPhone or tablet or laptop because It’s better, and because everyone else has it,” or simply “I want this/I want to do this because everyone else is/because everyone else has it.”

It can be really easy for us to store up treasures here on earth & forget that the real reward is actually the Father. (Matthew 6:19-21) I often catch my own mind heading towards this same train of thought. We’re humans & were far from perfect & I’m not saying that It’s a bad thing to buy that sweater from Target just because it’s cute. Just don’t get caught up too far in the desires of this world because there’s more. There’s a portion that’s better than anything this world could ever offer.

I have felt heavy conviction on my own heart this week about some of these things & every time God brings me back to just sitting in His presence. Being with Him, seeking Him, desiring to know more of His character. The more I do that the more my desires & my heart align with His.

When I feel so unseen by everyone else in the world, He sees me.

When I feel like worrying about my circumstances or what’s next, He offers peace.

When I feel like I can’t take another step, He brings me to a place of rest.

He’s enough. I have no good thing without Him. I am nothing without Him. (Psalm 16:2) Every single time He satisfies me & sometimes I’m guilty of not recognizing it. So this weekend I just want to remind all of you, including myself, to acknowledge and remember His goodness & faithfulness in your lives. Allow Him to overflow your cup & recognize it. Understand your inheritance. He is faithful, He is peace, He is steadfast.

Thanks for reading these jumbled thoughts!

With love,

Nikki
