A lot of my life I have had a very broken view of men. I didn’t have an idea of how I should be treated by them, what healthy boundaries looked like, and I also took the world’s definition of men as my own. This year God has blessed me with 6 amazing men of God who show respect, transparency, humility, and who are madly in love with the Holy Spirit. God has been using my brothers to redeem the idea of men in my life, and also to reveal different aspects of his face to me. So here’s to my awesome brothers in Christ that the Father has blessed me with this year!
To my brother Jacob- You look like Jesus in the way that you show the Lord’s kindness. Today you offered me your rain jacket without thinking twice about it because mine was wet. You are such a genuine human & you remind me that I hold value & that I shouldn’t devalue myself.
To my brother Danny- You look like Jesus in the way that you desire to serve your sisters with your whole heart. Today Gel was going nuts because she lost her headphones & I was laying in my bed freezing because it was such a cold day! You got up from where you were sitting and RAN to your room, and when you came back your sleeping bag & headphones were in your arms. It warmed my heart to the max & reminded me that God always wants to care for His kids.
To my brother Nathan- You look like Jesus in the way that you value emotions. You remind me that crying & frustration & all the emotions are okay because God catches every tear that I cry.
To my brother Kyle- You look like Jesus in the way that you encourage me & the rest of the squad. Your words mean so much to this body of believers, and I am so proud of the way that you speak out what the Holy Spirit tells you about your brothers & sisters.
To my brother Philip- You look like Jesus because of your inviting essence. Your arms are always open to anyone who needs to talk or has a question, & you are always up for having fun/joking around with us. You remind me that the Father’s arms are always open for any question we may have, and also of His desire to just be with us.
To my brother Taylor- You look like Jesus in the way that you shepherd us. You are a man who lives from a place of rest & who leads with integrity. You aren’t afraid of fierce conversations & neither is God. You desire to bring us into a Godly perspective & back into alignment with Him.
To my brothers,
I love you, I appreciate you, and I love being your sister. Thank you for serving us, having boundaries with us, and loving us without conditions. Here’s to 6 more months of going deeper with the Father! I am so excited to witness the metamorphosis that you will all go through!
Love your sister,
Nikki
