This week I received a key necklace from one of my alumni team leaders, and the word on the key is “Fulfill.” These necklaces come from a company called Keys For The Journey, and when you buy one you can either pick your own word to put on it or you can have whoever makes it pray over it and pick the word for you. The idea behind it is giving it away at some point to someone that the Lord points you to, to someone who needs that word.

Something that the Lord has been teaching me during these first few weeks on the race is that God is a faithful God who fulfills His word and His promises to us. One of my favorite stories in the Bible is in the book of Exodus, it tells the story of the Israelites who had been enslaved for many years by the Egyptians. In Exodus 6 God promises freedom to the Israelites, He promises to deliver them from slavery.

‘“Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are forcing to work as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant. “Therefore I tell the Israelites: I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from the forced labor of the Egyptians and rescue you from slavery to them. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and great acts of judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the forced labor of the Egyptians. I will bring you to the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.”’ Exodus 6:5-8

In this passage the Lord says “I will” 5 different times, and promises to rescue and redeem the Israelites. That’s a pretty big promise, right? The coolest part is that a few chapters later in Exodus 14, the Lord delivers the Israelites and fulfills His promise to them. The exodus had begun, and the Egyptians were in pursuit of the Israelites when the Lord A.) parted the sea for the Israelites to continue on dry ground, and B.) washed the water back over the Egyptians so that they could no longer pursue the Israelites. Isn’t that WILD?!

“But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left. That day the Lord saved Israel from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. When Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and believed in Him and His servant Moses.” Exodus 14:29-31

Promise fulfilled.

I’m sure by now you are all wondering why I went into such great detail to share with you that God is a personal God who listens/hears us, and who fulfills His word/promises. Well let me tell ya! I wanted to share this because recently the Father has been sweetly reminding me that He’s trustworthy, and that I never have to second guess a promise that He’s made to me. Last week I received some encouragement/a reminder of a promise that the Lord made to me that said “I got Her, I got you…He is SO faithful & will NEVER let you down. You have no reason to worry or be afraid, He is sovereign & holding your sweet sweet heart and hers. God has her & is Lord over her life & will do huge things in her life as you go & trust Him.” I won’t go on and fully explain what this encouragement means to me, but what I will say is that I am a daughter who is CONFIDENT in her father’s promises. You guys should be as well, He’s so faithful & He desires to fulfill His promises that He has made because he adores you.

All the love,

Nikki
