This one’s for you guys.

Flashback to last November. My old squad was in Ecuador, but I was here. I was initially supposed to launch for the race last year & wasn’t really sure why the Lord called me home for the year instead. I was in the midst of changing churches. I was also in the midst of trying to connect at the new church (Enter: Grove). I decided to be wild & attend this thing called the Shaking Off The Slumber Nights at this random house (Shout out to the Clarks) with a bunch of random strangers that I didn’t know. We talked about Jesus in a beautiful intimate setting, I didn’t know why but I actually felt comfortable. I met one of the sweetest gals on the planet (Enter: Katie). I also met a gal who, no joke, changed the course of my year (Enter: Shelby). She invited me to this community group through church that she hosted at her & her husband’s home every other Tuesday (Enter: North House). That’s when it all changed.

Fast forward to today. You guys have become my family, whether or not I know you on a deep personal level or not, because every other week when I walk in that door I simply get to learn and be poured into by amazing people. You guys will for sure be one of my hardest goodbyes this September.

So here it is, 10 fun things I’ve learned from my North House humans over the last few months:

1- Don’t let anyone tell you that it’s not possible to fit 30-40 people PLUS their children in one house. Because it is. We do it every other week.

2- Pizza will always be the go to.

3- Don’t bring out the salted caramel chocolates because they will, without a doubt, be all gone by the end of the night.

4- Don’t be alarmed when you hear “Who’s baby is that?” or “Where’s my baby?” because it’s rrreeaaallll normal around here.

5- Honor time is one of the most humbling and sweet times.

6- Take the wine bottles off of the rack because Kyrie WILL try to grab one :,)

7- Llama Llama is a life savor.

8- Despite the loud children, it IS possible to stay engaged in conversation/prayer/honor time.

9- Don’t leave your La Croix or water bottles  sitting around because Kyrie loves both of those things. (Shoutout to Jo & Israel for creating the loveliest wild child—she really is the life of the party!)

10- Shelby is the WORST time tracker ever probably, but it’s okay because who doesn’t love extended honor time?!

You guys really are the best family a girl could ask for, thanks for inviting me into it 🙂

Love,

Nikki
