Dear Friends and Family~
I’m writing to tell you about an exciting new journey I’m about to embark upon. Since this past November, I’ve really been able to see the pieces coming together, pointing me in this direction for the next year and a half. Lately, I’ve been working through my church groups to get more involved with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Grace Center’s of Hope, God’s Helping Hands, Love146 and the EACH initiative. While I enjoy these outreach and service opportunities, I really feel led to do something on a much larger scale!
Starting in October, I’ll be working with an organization called Adventures in Missions in their World Race program. The World Race is an 11-month missions trip through 11 different countries. My team and I will serve those in need by partnering with local churches and ministries to work with orphanages, plant churches, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the Gospel of Jesus to others through various prayer and ministering opportunities.
I am so grateful for this purpose in my life. However, I can’t make this journey alone. I need to raise $15,000 in order to cover my field expenses while on the World Race and I ask that you consider partnering with me, prayerfully and financially, to accomplish this goal. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or a monthly donation plan, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 25 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months, I would have 100% of the funds necessary.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. Just click on the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed.
There are other ways you can help as well. In addition to the funds for the trip itself, I will also need support in gathering the necessary equipment I’ll need to be living and travelling abroad for a year (ei: internal frame backpack, hiking shoes, etc.) as well as some medical costs (vaccinations, medications and international medical insurance) before I launch in October. Throughout the past months of seriously praying over this decision, I keep coming back to Isaiah 6:8 wherein Isaiah hears the voice of the Lord saying “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Isaiah’s reply, without hesitation, is “Here I am. Send me!” I’ve always felt that God wanted me to go on a missions trip at some point in my life and, though I never before imagined it would be something of this magnitude, I believe that this is the time and purpose that He has planned.
