As we’ve traveled to the different countries here on the race, I’ve found that each one has it’s own uniqueness that stands out. Here in Malaysia, it’s definitely their hospitality! Time and time again, my team and I have constantly been blown away.

At each town we’ve visited, the church members have graciously taken us into their homes, offering us a variety of snacks and drinks as we tell them about our stories. For the entire month we have not had to pay for housing and I think my team has paid for maybe five meals here, which have mainly been on our travel days… different families have volunteered to sponsor our meals, either providing us with traditional Indian food, trying to create our favorites from back home, or taking us out to some of the popular local shops (we’ve even had one family provide us with a 3-course meal… what?!). When I became sick one of the church families took me to the doctor and refused to let me pay… they completely covered the physician fee, the medication, and the food for the special diet I was on! AND, to top it off twice our team has been blessed with a love offering to help us with our trip.

My team and I have been ridiculously blessed this month! In fact, there have been several times when we’ve wondered if we were still even on The World Race! Malaysia is definitely ‘The Friendliest Place on Earth’… at least from what I’ve experienced, and this is coming from a girl that was born and raised in the ‘Friendly State’!
