Here I sit, in Woods Coffee on a leather couch by a fire sipping my pineapple green tea. Less than three weeks ago I was preaching in Rwanda and preparing for a month of ministry in Kenya.
I wake up most mornings unsure where I am. Is this real or a dream? Many times I get lost in that in between place, that place between my dreams and reality. I have no idea about anything anymore.
All I know currently is that this definitely isn’t Kenya that’s for sure.
I’ve been home for a little over two weeks now, it’s been great seeing my family and friends again. I’m excited for the start of the Sounders and Mariners coming up shortly…I plan on thoroughly drowning my World Race sorrows in some soccer and baseball. Getting back into the groove of things..bills..what!?…Job hunting…pumping gas seems so foreign to me. I’m surprised that I haven’t forgotten yet and ran out of gas somewhere. I still use hand gestures I learned in Cambodia..its so strange to me how five short months can change the way you’ve done things or how you’ve lived your entire life. I’m interested to see what fades and what remains. I’m even more interested to see how this has changed me, if at all and what the outcome of this year will look like in me and my life.
Anyways, this isn’t so much a blog as it’s a good-bye of sorts. Tomorrow is my delete date and this little blog will cease to exist. All ruminates of my journey on the race are slowly fading…I wonder what happens once they’re all gone (it’s sort of like it never happened…and we’re back to that place between my dreams and reality…)
However, because I have a love hate relationship with blogging and I’m not totally convinced that I will never blog again, then again I’m entirely convinced I will…BUT in case I get the blog itch I have made a NEW BLOG. This blog will have all my blogs from here as well as new ones I may or may not write..ok who are we kidding I usually can’t shut up so I’m sure I’ll be blogging again soon.
So to follow my journey and life post race…(I’ll be posting a video of my time overseas so I highly recommend following, just saying!)
