This morning I boarded a boat destined for the mainland. Then I boarded a bus for about 2 hours and then a van ride back to K.I.M. Its hard to believe that 3 weeks has come and gone. I sit here thinking about the last three weeks in Puerto Galero and I have one word on my mind…amazed.

I am baffled at how I miss them already…its only been a few hours. I am amazed at what God did. I am amazed at people with like minds can be so close in a mere three weeks. I am amazed at the growth I’ve seen in my team and how they got out of themselves. I am amazed at how God work in and through us. I am amazed at how much he LOVES.

I am amazed at what my eyes have seen. Everything in me wants so much to tell you every single detail but you can’t put most of it into words. Overall i saw a village become awakened. I saw people who in their souls were dead and now they live. I saw women smile; smile not because of a joke or some superficial thing. NO, they smiled because they know and believe they are LOVED. I was apart of my team and team deep roots coming to life. We smiled because we are LOVED and because God put us right where we needed to be. We saw what we thought God wanted and took a chance. We dared to be BOLD. In that we saw hearts unlocked. People are still broken, we didn’t fix anything but we left them ABLE. We left them able to love, able to smile, able to experiance God through worship, and most of all able to be FREE.

The other day I built a fire. My other teammates were up the hill clearing the brush. I just gathered the brush and basically ‘man ed’ the fire for about two hours. (yes, my heart was overjoyed!!!). I began to think of fire. I thought about how it works. How it burns and  how it consumes. What does fire need to burn? It needs fuel. Small twigs, a spark, and wind. The spark, when its fanned, turns into a flame. Pretty soon you’ve got a real good fire. Right? As I watched that fire burn and take over what it touched, I couldn’t help but think of what we were doing in Puerto Galero. Before we arrived there, there were many sparks that needed to be ignited. They needed a bit of wind to fan into a flame. We had something they needed. Something from the Lord that needed to be brought. Believe me it was brought. It’s clear that wherever we go next, something will be fanned. In us and in others. God is on the move…to take over HIS PEOPLE. To be the all consuming Fire again.

Wherever you are today, God wants something fanned into a flame. In YOU and Through you. He is always working. Why? BECAUSE HE LOVES US….BECAUSE HE LOVES US…BECAUSE HE LOVES US!  I pray you be apart of what God is doing. Allow sparks to be ignited in you…and then take that to others so they can’t help but be consumed.

   IT STARTS WITH A SPARK…
