Africa round two = pretty sweet!
It’s differant this time though since I now have some kids to take care of and a co-leader to help balance responsiblity. I would characterize Africa as many things like crazy drivers, green trees, cool art, and people who call you ‘Mzungu’. This time around I can now throw in donkeys. I’ve never seen so many donkeys in one spot. In our first village I tried to ride them but it was highly discouraged by our pastors. I settled for petting them. I tried to convince my pastor in Tangi-Tatu to ride the donkeys instead of walk but he laughed and thought I was crazy. Our ministry in the villages is mostly house visiting. As difficult as it can be to go house to house everyday, I’m seeing such fruit from it within the team and the people we meet.
My co- leader; Neal Montgomery (nealmontgomery.wordpress.com) is pretty awesome. He is from Kansas and brings to the table lots of wisdom and fun from the men and women on the team. We are still learning one another but God has just been good to us that we mesh well. We have been able to learn from one another and encourage the team to greater things.
Our current ministry is in a village called Karati. It’s more upscale from Tangi- Tatu. Squatties are all cement and not just a dirt hole!! We have a market just in walking distance and our Mamma Margret and our sister Vicky cook so well for us. We are so blessed. Africa is crazy!
Some prayer requests:
– Finances
– to find balances
– insight and wisdom into how to best lead the team
– for trust to abound and for us to follow where we are being asked to.
– that I get to ride a donkey!
I’ll try to get some pictures for you guys. Of course I’m not the best at taking pictures but my awesome team is!!! Hope to have some in the next week or so uploaded!!!
Love you all!!!!!
