We have arrived in Uganda!!!!

Uganda is not at all what I would expect an African country to be. We arrived to the city of Kampala and then drove out to the district of Mkono. The city was what I expectedcpacked full of people, dirty because of the pollution and lots of places to shop. Mkono has proven to be different. Our contact and her husband waited to pick us up at the bus stop, from there we piled seven people, six packs, five day packs, and two guitars into the smallest car ever!!!

From here we drove about an hour to our new house for the month. As we pulled up to the gate Watson, our contact said e here is home, a small little farmf. hearing those words was like music to my ears!! FARM!!! Finally out of the city for a bit. At this point it was dark and I couldnft see anything but I was excited. We were shown our living arrangements and settled in for a few minutes. Surprisingly, we are not crammed all in one room and we each have our own bed! After a the past couple months of sleeping on the floor, I was praying for a bed off the ground! Amen. Our contacts then wanted to take us out to dinner since it was late. So we piled back into the car to dinner. A random gas station with a grocery store on one side, a massage chair in the middle, and a nice restaurant on the other. Off to a great start in my book!

After dinner we arrive back home. It was pretty much bed time and after a long day of traveling, I was ready for bed! I was excited to sleep too. Knowing I had this comfy bed awaiting me to just dive on it! So I did just thatcdove on it! This bed literally cuddles me. Itfs bigger than the bed I had at home. And itfs got this dip in the middle; so when you lay in it, for real it cuddles you. You canft help but drift to sleep. Seriously some of the best sleep Ifve had in a while. LOVE IT!

Waking up in the morning to explore this place I get to live in was exciting. I got to just hang out for my first day here. Huge fields, an old shed, chickens, a couple of ducks, security guards, a swing, widows that cook and clean for us, a creek to play in, and lots of trees to climb.
