Having graduated from a local Bible College with a B.A in Global Missions- I have learned/realized that my heart is very much overseas. However, since I have been back in my home community here in the Great White North, I have immersed myself in the local Sr. youth in my church as a youth leader/sponsor for grades 9-12. I am currently in my third straight here ad every wednesday (youth nights) I anticpate with great joy and excitment. Eager to see How God will move that night. This past week, was no exception. God blew my mind again with our local youth, with their passion to serve HIM. We spent sometime in a smaller group talking about the message (which was on Moses and his life of serving Christ despite his shortcomings that he had) and I was so encouraged by how the young ladies that I had, stepped up, opened up and shared what God had placed on their hearts. HUGE things are happening here and it will be very hard to leave for 11 months but the past 2 full years of youth ministry has been a complete joy and blessing. Yes, there have been trials and struggles along the way. Times when I cannot do anything but pray to YAHWEH. Times when I cannot do anything but look to scripture for answers.
I've learned that yes Missions are overseas, but they are also right here at home..right behind your backyard. Your neighbour, your co worker and friends. Dont look too far because you never know what God is trying to tech you right here. Right Now
Keep encouraged friends!
