I will fight to follow
I will fight for love
Throw my life forever
To the triumph of the Son

(~Love is War~ Hillsong United)

It is safe to say, that the ‘honeymoon’ phase of the World Race, is long over. We have passed the 100 days mark on the field, over 2 months a go already.  Mid December marked the half way point of the race and we are one day away from saying goodbye to 2013 and hello 2014.

Enter Cambodia.

New country.

New team.

New Year.

Yet SAME GOD

As we were riding in the bus from Phuket up to Bangkok, Thailand- the words from Hillsongs song “Love is War” rang through my ipod.  December was a month of many challenges…from personal, to ministry related, to physical injuries…

Yet it was also a month of many victories…

It was a month where God broke my heart for what breaks His, in a way that He never has before.  I knew already that going back home in May, will be a struggle.  Yet, after having experienced Thailand in the way we did, the word “struggle’ doesn’t even come close to describing how hard it will be going home.

But once again, I am reminded who is in control.

Let me tell you a little secret…Its not me and its not you.

It is Jesus.

My prayer going into month 7 of the world race, is this

Let Your love be my companion
In the war against my pride
Long to break all vain obsession
Till You’re all that I desire

Turn my eyes to see Your face
As all my fears surrender
Hold my heart within this grace
Where burden turns to wonder

I will fight to follow
I will fight for love
Throw my life forever
To the triumph of the Son

And I know Your love has won it all
You took the fall
To embrace my sorrows
I know You took the fight
You came and died but the grave was borrowed
I know You stood again
So I can stand with a life to follow
In the light of Your name

I know it will not be easy, but as we enter Cambodia, I am ready for this challenge.  God has beyond equipped me (and you) for the journey that lies ahead.  2013 has been a year with many ups and downs. It has been a year that has forever changed my life. It has been a year that has blessed me in a way that I could never have imagined.  I’ve seen places I have never dreamed of, and have met people who have become apart of my family in a mere 3 weeks.  I have traveled around Europe and South East Asia, with people who started off as strangers, but have become a family.

The Journey is not over yet.

We still have this month ahead and 4 more after, along with the rest of our lives.

Continue to be in prayer for us as we continue alongside God, fighting the GOOD fight.  Pray for Cambodia, for the ministries we will be working with.  Pray for God to bring freedom and truth within us, and through us.  My team will be heading to a village type area this month where we will be working with the local church and teaching English.  We will have NO wifi (or internet) this month (a ‘first’ for me on my world race).  Yet I ask that you will daily pray for us, and with us.  Please know that your prayers are indeed heard and felt.  We could not be doing what we are doing, without the love, support and prayers from supports like you, back at home.

Thank you.

God bless and wishing you a happy (and healthy) NEW year.  Praying that God will rock YOUR world in 2014!!
