Here is something I have previously written on my other blog that I have…however I thought it was fitting for on here as well!! Happy Reading!
Called to be Different
As Christians, we are called to be different. We are not a part of this world.
John 15:19 states " If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
I've been realizing lately that I do not take enough of a stand for my faith. I have become to feel as tho I 'belong to the world'. Christ calls us to live for Him. To be "transformed by the renewing of our minds" and "religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after widows and orphans in their distress" (James 1:27).
What does this look like?
How are we suppose to act?
How do we respond to people who laugh at and 'spit' in the face of Christ?
I must stop myself and ask myself…had I been alive during the time when Christ got crucified…would I have been in the crowd (or a solider) laughing at, mocking and spiting at Christ? OR would I have been apart of the small, but dedicated crowd of followers…Mary…Mother of Jesus Mary, John??
I wish I could say I would have been alongside Mary and the few disciples who stuck around..
but in reality -I think I would have been in the crowd. How many times during a single day, or even hour, do I myself right now…mock Christ by the things I say, or laugh at Him through my actions (or in some cases, lack there of) or anything else?
Micah 6:8-And what does theLORD our God require of you? to DO justice, LOVE mercy and WALK humbly with the Lord your God
