New season, new role & team changes
On the 5th December 2018 I was asked by leadership to step into a new role as team leader for a completely new team.
God has graciously been preparing me for this new season from the start of the World Race. From the very beginning at training camp being asked to be the Beauty for Ashes Coordinator for our Squad was the start of this. Giving them my yes to step into that was a big deal for me. I knew I would be challenged in stepping out of my comfort zone, leading activities, organizing events, being vulnerable and speaking in front of big groups, but that’s why I’m here. To be challenged and to grow.
Overtime through the last 5 months God has given people words that have spoken “leadership” over me. Not just once but multiple times and through multiple people. At the time, I thought that’s really awesome but I think that’s not for me. The more I heard it, the more I started to think “is this really something God wants me to step into?” He slowly kept nudging me into different situations and speaking to me. I took the time to simply sit and listen with the Lord on what it would be like if I were to be asked to team a lead and how would I do it? How would God want me to lead?
As time went on, God really made me excited thinking about stepping into leadership, if that meant on the race or after the race. Whatever or whenever it might be, I’d be giving God my yes.
Little did I know, a month later I would be asked to team lead and that I would be leading a completely new team!
God knew all along what was to come and I love how He graciously prepared my heart for it.
I’m trusting and praying that the Lord will lead and guide me and this team, that I will be His vessel. Humility is an essential quality I strive for in leadership, overall Jesus’s ministry and leadership was grounded in humility. I want to be servant hearted and serve my team well. I believe a leader must be teachable and I’m always willing to learn and grow from the amazing women around me. I strive to be a person who can encourage and be there for others. I want to encourage my team to step out and lead in their own way. I see leadership skills in all of the ladies that are in my team. Most importantly I genuinely love my team and I want to love them well.
I have now been team leading since the 11th December 2018, and what a wild fun adventure God has taken myself and my team on. God is so good and He has provided so many opportunities for us to do ministry in Jordan, Israel and now Armenia.
I will update you all with the things we have been able to be part of in my next blog posts. Will also introduce my new team to you all! Yaaaaay, I love them to bits!
Prayer requests:
1) Please pray that I would be fully funded! I’m currently sitting on $14,575 USD and I need a total of $18,700 USD. When it’s transferred into NZD, I’ve raised $21,513 NZD. Praise the Lord! In total for NZD, I need $27,596. The deadline to be fully funded was November 30th 2018, but they have given grace and am letting me continue to fundraise. I’d still love to be fully funded as soon as possible. God is teaching me to trust in Him and that His timing is always perfect.
2) Please pray for my team, for my leadership and that I would grow in discernment and wisdom.
3) We also have some upcoming ministries that we are planning, focusing on women who are widowed and who use to be prostitutes, as well as organizing a kids program (some with disabilities). We would appreciate your prayers as we start to plan and that all the little pieces would come together and fall into place as God wants it too. The event will be on the 22nd Jan.
4) We were going to be helping out at an orphanage this week in Armenia but there is virus going around the kids and they are sick. Please pray for the little munchkins to be fully healed of any illnesses.
