It’s been a while y’all!
I know I have been really bad about updating you guys on my blog. But here is a quick blog to tell you guys what’s been going on!
I made it to Indonesia!!
We flew into Bali a little over a week ago and my teammates and I made a small drive off the coast a bit to an area called Ubud.
Ubud is a little less tourist-y than some areas of Bali buuut it’s still popping!
It’s a place where a lot of people come for vacay orrr to ‘find themselves’…aka searching to fill their Jesus sized hole in their hearts.
Perfect place to do a little tourist ministry!
So we have been waking up every day asking the Lord, “What’s enough for today? Who do you want me to talk to? Where do you want me to go? Who should I intercede for today?”
And ya wanna know something?
It is so much fun!
Not only am I living in a beautiful place with amazing people who I love a ton…but I get to just DO LIFE with the Lord!
This month we were not set up with a specific ministry to partner with…we just kinda get to do our own thing. Leadership thinks this will benefit us in the coming years of our lives because we might not ever get assigned ministry ever again. Sooo we just get to wake up everyday and ask the Lord (ATL) what we should do!
It has not been all fun and games for me.
Personally I enjoy a little structure. Schedules, optional possibilities, and routines are my friends sooo this month hasn’t been easy.
Sometimes I don’t know what to do at all. Many times I feel like I failed. I’ve even felt a little jealous of my teammates who were building relationships with others around the area and I hadn’t met anyone at all.
But then I looked back over my days here and realized I didn’t fail. I had loved people, I had loved God, and that’s the two most important commandments in the Bible!
Now I had some room to grow for sure but also this month wouldn’t go down as a fail.
So my encouragement from the mission field today would be to ask God, “What is enough for today?”
Maybe enough for today is to run a 5K. Maybe it’s to go to work with a good attitude. Maybe it’s to finish cleaning the living room. Maybe it’s to finish your homework assignment you have been procrastinating. Maybe it’s to just get out of bed. Maybe it’s to talk to the person in the check out line behind you.
I don’t know it’s could be anything but just remember to love God and love others and He will be happy!
Blessings,
Niki
