Since starting the race I have had SEVERAL marriage proposals and awkward “I love you!”s shouted from across the way.
Some people find this very offensive and degrading but to me it’s just another day.
The first few times I was offended. I thought to myself, “How dare they degrade women like that!?” or “Never in a million years would I marry you.”
But the more it happened the more I thought, “These men need me to pray for them. Maybe no one else has even tried to do that.”
So ever since I had this little realization every time this happens I keep walking but instead of being angry or hurt by the situation…I pray.
People are desperate for what they think is love. They are looking for a void in their lives to be filled. They have a huge Jesus sized hole in their hearts and will search high and low to find a love to fill that hole.
So my prayer today is for the sweet man who stopped me on the side of the road today. He said, “Hello. You are so beautiful. I love you.” I replied with a simple, “Thank you. I will be praying for you.”
His whole body shifted and his eyes lightened. No one has ever responded that way I’m assuming.
Join me in prayer for the men and women all around the world who struggle so much to find a love that only God can fulfill. Pray that they can finally find what they have been searching for.
As I prayed for my sweet little guy today that still small voice said to me, “He was right you know. You are beautiful and I love you so much more.”
