There are just some things in the race you get way to excited for. I have taken the accessibility of these things for granted for in the States. Here’s a list of a few!
- Reese’s
- when you learn you can flush toilet paper!
- WiFi at your host
- showers at the airport
- Dairy Queen, McDonald’s, Subway, Taco Bell…
- Hot showers
- a meal without rice
- stick deo
- atms with air con
- 24 hour layover in the states
- western toilets
- toilet paper in the bathroom
- good coffee that’s not Nescafé
- Starbucks
- a fan
- temperatures lower than 90 degrees
- finding good pens in country
- ice cream
- seeing a Walmart in Guatemala
- kids performing a dance to the Greatest Showman
- fresh warm muffins and donuts
- cold water to drink
- an oven
- not being squished in a vehicle
- a bed
- hot chocolate
- napkins and paper towel
- finding clothes for $1
- broken English
- puppies
- a swimming pool at or near your host
For those that know me best, I definitely do not get excited for coffee or Starbucks, but my squadmates do!
