With a title like that, you probably thought I was going to talk about all the wildfires, earthquakes, and hurricanes going on recently. But nope, (well kind of) but I caught your attention! Before you read my post, please pray for those affected by all the natural disasters occurring in our world.
A burning bush, earthquake, wind and fire, walking on water, and a bright light. Four of the many ways that God has called people in the Bible. These ways are not very discreet and quiet. God called them through a big event, unexpected, and shocking experience. Moses was tending to his sheep like he did every day and suddenly God started a bush on fire and called him to deliver His people (Exodus 3). Elijah was hiding out in a cave, when God called him to anoint a king and prophet after an earthquake, strong wind, and fire appeared to him (1 Kings 19). Peter and the disciples were chilling on a boat when Jesus called Peter out to walk on the water (Matthew 14). And Saul was riding to Damascus when God appeared in a bright light and blinded him (Acts 9).
In each of these stories God has called these famous men of the Bible to serve him and preach his Gospel, not just in their community but around the world. God called them to join them on a walk, a journey with Him. These men said “yes” to God, and trusted Him to lead them on their new journey. When God called them, there was also fear. Moses said he couldn’t speak. Men were trying to kill Elijah, and Peter was on water! But God reassured them of His presence and protection. These men chose to follow God and their lives were changed. They didn’t walk a perfect walk, but because they said yes, they grew from their failures and shared God’s love with many people.
I can’t help to look back at these past two months and how I’ve started a new journey and walk with God. How a defining moment in my life was God’s way of calling me to the World Race and walk with Him around the world. I Am Terrified. There are so many fears in my head with this call and journey. How to raise funds? Will I raise enough? Am I worthy enough to share God’s love? Why am I called to this? What will happen in these countries? What if people don’t accept us? And the questions don’t end. But God is constantly reassuring me through His Word and his love. I trust Him in the journey and walk and whatever will happen. Joshua 1:9 says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” I am on this journey and God is with me. I am ready to grow, learn from my mistakes, and be changed in ways I can’t even imagine.
My prayer for you this day, is that you continue to grow in your faith and relationship with God, and recognize what He is doing in your life. Maybe He is speaking to you in little ways, or even big. Is He calling you to step out in faith? Is He calling you to serve a neighbor, change a bad habit, or read your Bible more? I pray that God will continue to bless you today and always.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my post and support my journey. A huge thank you and a big hug to those who have supported me through your prayers and financial support. I love you all so much and couldn’t follow God’s call without your help! For those who have not yet supported, please prayerfully consider supporting me. It would be greatly appreciated!
