Imagine you receive $86,400 everyday for the rest of your life? What would you do with the money? There are a few rules that you must follow:

  1. Each day your account is credited with $86,400.
  2. You must spend that money THAT day.
  3. You cannot transfer the money to a different account.
  4. Only YOU can spend it.
  5. At the end of the day, the money is lost, and never appears again.
  6. The bank can end the game without warning. Closing the account, and not receiving a new one.

This game is real! Each morning you wake up and receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life. When you go to bed those remaining seconds are not credited to you. Yesterday is forever lost. Each day you are given 86,400 more seconds and life can end at any time without warning.

What would you do with your seconds?

Will you take time out of your day to open the door for someone, visit a loved one, or even call them? Do you have a few seconds to give a smile, or ask how someone’s day is going?

Most people are taught to give 10% of their salaries to church. So if we gave 10% of $86,400 is would be $8,640 a day. Let’s look at that in seconds. 8,640 seconds a day, or 2.4 hours. How many of you give 2.4 hours of your day to God? By reading your Bible, praying, attending church, community service and the list goes on.

Let me be honest, I struggle to set aside time to be with God. We all live busy lives. We always are on the go. We want things done ASAP (as soon as possible). I encourage you next time you are busy, on the go, or even worrying about something. Pause and thank God for the blessings He has given you ASAP—Always Say a Prayer. Take time to say a prayer. Ask for help and give thanks.

Now the purpose of this post is not to force you into reading your Bible, going to church, or giving your time to God, because I don’t have the power to do that, but the purpose is to help realize that there are more important things in life to worry, argue, or stress over the little things. Use the time God has given you to live a happy and positive life, however that looks for you. Whether its spending time with the people you love, sharing the Gospel and love of Christ, making a difference in the lives around you, or simply smiling.

Remember the most important thing, that Jesus gave up his life, so that you could live and spend an ETERNITY with Him in Heaven, praising his glorious name and marvelous works. Imagine how many seconds an eternity is.
