It’s so amazing how G-d works in the very littlest of details.
When we split up into our new gender based teams, we were asked to pray about where G-d was leading us to go and had to pick a city without having any information available. Based on the results, our new teams emerged and I am a proud member of “Team Two”.
Before we were sent out to our assigned cities, we gathered together as women to have a couple days where we looked at different issues pertaining to us lady folks and had multiple opportunities to press into the Lord on how to handle working through those issues. To me, it was a great time of being able to open up to one another and let others know they aren’t alone in what they are facing/struggling to process.
Team Two ended up being sent out into the mountains of Sri Lanka and it has been amazing so far! Our squad leaders came to visit as well and continued through the healing process that was started during the tail end of debrief. I enjoyed having them here to pour into us on a more vulnerable level.
As we have been here in the mountains, it has been a bit of a struggle to see how we can be the church in this area. Other teams have been able to meet up with local believers and begin ministry while we are having to be more creative in making His name known. But oh how cool it is to be some of the first here! and prepare the way!
There have been some hopeful starts to connection and I am excited to be able to follow through and see where they lead. Also it’s cool when you pray for free food and a service opportunity before leaving in the morning and by mid-afternoon both prayers are answered. Or when you really want to see an elephant and one literally walks by you down the street. Personally though my favorite was having my fellow teammate who climbs mountains as a hobby tell me the sunrise climb we made was difficult for her because it added a deeper sense of accomplishment to my being able to do it. The mountain climbs have been super challenging and FUN all at the same time. On one we literally blazed our own trail up the side of the mountain climbing through pampas grass taller than all of us.

Anyway, I am continuing to press into the things G-d has for me here in Sri Lanka.
Fun fact: I’m still raising support! I am currently $6500 from being full funded.
