Hey yall!
Oh my goodness. Where do I even start?!
My past 6 months at G42 have been incredible. Honestly, it has been the best decision I’ve ever made in my life to this date. I grew so much through learning in a classroom setting, living in community, and by conversations around the dinner table. I’ve never been in such a loving environment where people allow you to feel safe to be you on the good and bad days and at the same time encourage you to go deeper in your relationship with God.
This is something I wrote a couple months ago that I believe gives a glimpse into what my time at G42 has been about:
This is what I’ve come to realize: that all the beauty in the world can’t surpass the beauty that is within us. It is within the depths of our hearts that we find ourselves, and we find our Creator. Our Father. This past year and a half has been a journey to find the beauty that’s within me, the beauty that has always been there. The beauty that is in all of us, because the truth is we are ALL made in His image. The more I seek, the more I find. The more of him I find, the more of myself I find and the more of myself I find, the more of Him I find. They go hand-in-hand. And the true beauty in that is that there is an endless amount of more I get to step into. With each season comes more of Him to find and more of myself to find. I used to think life with you, Jesus, would be boring and rule-driven but I have quickly learned that life with you will be the greatest adventure I’ll ever journey and there is a freedom in my heart that has allowed me to become more myself than I ever knew was possible and has allowed me to experience a joy that can’t quite be explained but has reached a depth in my heart that can’t be shaken.
This in a nutshell describes my time at G42. It has been about me coming alive in who I am, who I was created to be, and finding the freedom to dance in my imperfections and insecurities while stepping into grace more and learning more about my Father.
So what’s next for me?
I am happy to announce that I am moving to Indianapolis, Indiana with these beautiful ladies above, Jenna and Kathy who are from my G42 class. Kathy is originally from Indianapolis and is moving back to get her Masters in Education. Jenna’s sister is living there so Jenna is moving there to be close to her and her newly born niece. I’ve decided to move there to continue building the relationship I’ve started with them and to help them with a ministry that they want to get started there. The three of us are wanting to rent a house/apartment together and create an atmosphere in our home where we can reach out to the community in Indianapolis. We want to be able to host people who are traveling through or need a place to stay for a little while, and also learn more about the needs of the community and reach out in whatever ways we can. Whether that be helping in the local churches, discipling, hosting game nights/creative nights at our house, having dinners, etc. We are wanting to establish something that will last and therefore are wanting to take this next year to really define what that will mean.
In this first year we are really wanting to focus on each other and making sure we establish our core values as a team and getting to know the community before we dive into anything too strong. We all will be getting jobs in the community and finding a house/apartment within the next couple of months where the three of us can live together.
I’m so excited to see what this next year will hold. I’m excited to start walking out what I’ve learned on the World Race and at G42 and put that into practice back in Indiana. This past year and a half of traveling has been such an amazing opportunity and has given me a safe place to really become myself and now I’m excited to put some roots down in Indiana and be in one place for an extended amount of time.
Thank you all for being interested in what’s next for me, and being a part of my life. I appreciate you all so much and am hoping to share more about my time at G42 and what God is doing in my life currently soon!
Love to you all!
Nicole
