Building the kingdom is a phrase with so much power and depth. When we tell others about Christ we are building his earthly home. This past week I have seen more love for God and healing than I have ever seen. God is moving and in big ways. God has given me so much love and hope for this nation.
I want to tell you a little bit of what we have done in the past week. We have started our daily ministry with about 60 kids in the pretty village called Bola de Ora. Each day we teach English, bible, sports, or arts class. The kids are so excited to come each day to learn.
Yesterday we took a day off from teaching and built outdoor stoves for two families that we have gotten to know. The stoves we made are real blessings for families because the sand in the stove absorbs the smoke and heat so there is no smoke. Also the stoves we built need less wood so they are saving money each day not having to buy as much wood. Josephine is the mom of the first family and she lets us use her house and yard each day for ministry. She is a very sweet faithful woman. Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to pray and bless her and her family. Tears streamed down her face, she was so thankful for the nice new stove and how we have poured love into her. Stephanie was the grandmother of the second family. Recently she has had many strokes that have effected the movement of her left side of her body. When we went to her a few days ago we just prayed for healing for her but yesterday we built her a stove too! Her huge family was filled with so much joy. Her daughter, granddaughters, and great grandchildren live with her to help with her daily needs. When we prayed for her a few days ago she started walking by herself and didn’t want to sit back down. She is healing. Yesterday was such an image of how much happiness we can bring the people in Bola de Ora by just giving them a stove.
I am so excited I am living in Guatemala for three months. I even wish I could live here longer. It is such a beautiful place. So far I have made the greatest friends and have loved pouring into the kids. English is much harder to teach than I thought it would be haha
Also on Thursday we went up into the mountains of the village and went to many houses to pray for them. We met Gloria who is 27 with blood cancer. She has less than a year to live and has three kids under the age of 6. Blood transfusions aren’t safe here and doctors don’t know how else to help her. Please pray for her to get better and to have many more years to live with her family.
Praying for those effected by the hurricane!!!
Miss you all- Nicole
