So, tonight as I was praying, God gave me a spirit of action to start really working on putting together the program for my Benefit Concert for Saturday the 12th. I went through my vocal soundtracks, thought about what I wanted to tell people during my hour of stage time, and spent about an hour narrowing down possibilities. As I sat in prayer, I got this vision.
*I saw Jesus in a really nice shirt… which He eventually revealed as a chef uniform. He reached forward, and held my head in His hands for a little bit.*
He told me that he was cookin’ something up. ๐ I smiled at the thought. “What ya cookin up, Lord?”
I began thinking about Jesus as a chef. It’s kind of funny to think about, really. My first thought was Jesus acting like Nick from the movie “No Reservations,” passionately singing opera music as he made his specialty Pasta. ๐ Then I thought of Paula Deen… Jesus: cookin’ up somethin’ special southern style. HEY YA’LL!
Somehow, when you know someone put hours into making a special meal… especially making a meal for YOU… it seems to ALWAYS tastes amazing. You savor each bite… and usually pay more attention to what the cook did, making note of the ingredients and the presentation of the meal! The night continues with praising the cook for a job well done!
Well, I’m here to tell you that Jesus is cookin’ something up…. and it’s gonna be amazing!!! He knows EXACTLY what your tastebuds are craving, and He loves to make up a lil’ something special JUST FOR YOU! He knows when you need vitamins, carbs, and protein. He knows when you need a five course meal, and when you just need a snack.
He also REALLY likes to whip up some creamy delicious cheesecake for no reason at all other than to make you smile. ๐
I know what He wanted to tell me through this, and maybe one of you needed this reminder, too:
Quote from Papa Mike at Training Camp:
“The best bread is the bread that just came out of the oven!!!”
Our Lord Jesus is ALIVE AND SPEAKING! He daily has something AMAZING cooked up for us! Something that has purpose, something that He has put time and effort into preparing just for you. Did you even come to the table today?
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
“Sir,” they said, “from now on give us this bread.”
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. -John 6:32-35
*Don’t forget to Praise the Cook!*
