The three day adventure to our Nicaraguan
ministry sites was long, crazy, relaxing, and enjoyable, to say the
least.

Sometimes I feel like our squad
is a graceful pack of locusts, swarming with style into each place we go! It’s pretty entertaining watching how 45 of
us maneuver from place to place. We’ve managed
to laugh at the fact that 5
people can easily share a 10 x 10 hotel closet for
a room, can pack at the minimum of 13 people into a van, and so far no luggage
has been lost.
And, amid all the fun
memories, God’s joy radiates even stronger! I love how that works. I love how
everyone helps carry stuff for other people, how people volunteer to clean up the trash as we
get off the bus, how our logistics guys Andy and Will amazingly get all this
stuff planned out for us. It’s a miracle
every time we all get from one destination to another!
As all of the teams came off the field
Friday night, we met up in Guatemala City!
Haley, Mike and I decided to take a taxi to a nearby mall that had a
food court!
Of all the things to miss… I
had Taco Bell and bought a quart of milk and some cereal.
Real Milk (as in pasteurized
and homogenized) is hard to come by, and I was cravin’ it! I got quite a few laughs for that one, but it
was totally worth it. It was so
refreshing to be around the rest of the squad again, to worship together and
share the stories of what God did the past month!

Saturday we took a Tica Bus (similar to a
Coach Bus in the US ) for 5 hours to El Salvador the following day, and
continued Sunday for 12 hours through
Honduras to Managua, Nicaragua. We
dropped a couple teams off along the way, so the other 5 teams stayed at a Backpackers
inn in Managua!

Monday, Teams Jubilee and REV 217 loaded up
the travel van and took a 2 hr drive to San Jorge, to load onto a ferry across
Lake Nicaragua! Our two hour “Cruise” as
we pretended, was quite relaxing.   Our
orphanages’ mini bus picked us up and took us to our home for the next month:
Cicrin Orphanage!

More blogs to come on my adventures so far
