This is an ATL month, which means we have the freedom to Ask The Lord where He wants us to go and to practice the discipline of hearing God’s voice and following where He leads us!

It’s been very exciting so far! We’ve had some great contacts flourish from the past few days of being in the capitol of Lome, Togo, and it seems that the 5 teams here in Togo are quickly falling into ministries that will be set for the month.

Togo was colonized by France, so everyone speaks French. It has a very interesting feel here in Lome; it’s very Westernized and French in most ways, minus the obvious 3rd world poverty part!

A couple teams are going to be partnered with Mercy Ships, which happens to be docked in Togo this month!

If you’ve never heard of it, it is basically a fully functioning hospital on a ship that does medical work in 3rd world countries for free!  I’m hoping to at least get a tour, we’ll see how that goes. There’s the possibility of a few people doing prayer and worship intercession around town, and a few other church contacts might have availability for us to lead a few discipleship classes.

However, my Team REV217 will be partnering with Team Logos and Team Jubilee at an Orphanage about 40 minute’s drive East of Lome. It’s an all boys home started by a famous Togolaise Musician as a way to give back to the community.

They hold 25 boys, and 16 live in the actual orphanage right now. If they excel in school, they are placed with families that host them so they can go to the university and get better education.

We visited the boys home, and I’m really excited to get to pour into them! We’ve been given the freedom to do any kind of program we want, so I think we’re going to focus on doing Bible lessons/songs, as well as helping them learn English. They all are studying English, so we figured that would be a practical way to help them as well!

Pray God overcomes all the communication issues and we can really build relationships with these boys!
