I was looking for You today, and I found You sitting on a rainbow. I started thinking about how someone once told me I was the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,” but You corrected me. You told me the rainbow is a complete circle; it has no end, just like Your promises. You told me I belonged upon it with You!
So, I sat next to you on the edge of the rainbow, and together we gazed into its center; which within the world rotated. The rainbow encircled the entire earth. I began to watch it with You, and connected with Your heart. Together, we prayed over the world. O few others appeared, sitting on the rainbow too, but only a handful. There are billions of people on earth.
I felt Your heart in mine; I saw sadness on Your face.
There’s so much misunderstanding about who You are, about Your desires for everyone on earth. I felt what You feel from people; the rejection, the distrust, the hurt, the misunderstandings.
I even felt forgotten.
I felt brokenness from the people You are still chasing after that haven’t yet responded to Your love. The simple matter of fact is You long for all of us to know You intimately.
From the beginning of time, we were created to know You and be with You, to walk with You. Everything You have done, from the creation of the world; all disasters and restorations and promises, were all to wake us up to the fact You want to be with us. You even came down to earth and showed us the way!
With a heavy sigh, You turned and looked at me. You grinned softly at me, and put Your arm around my back as we sat together on the rainbow, then tugged me a little closer to Your side.
It was as if I knew the matter of your heart, even though You didn’t say a word.
“I rejoice you are with me; that we are one as the Father and I are one. There are many in the Kingdom, and my love overflows for all of you. Just like the brother of the prodigal son, all I have is yours. Yet, you and I both know how many more are out there.”
We just watched the world slowly in rotation, and we prayed.
Awaken hearts, oh Lord.
People: He’s longing for you.
