I’m still letting the reality sink in that I just drove 2,500 miles, by myself, over a 6 day period and never really got tired! I could tell you A LOT, but here’s my story by pictures:
~My Indiana Family… seeing me off on my journey!
They wrote all over my car while I was at work…. that was a fun surprise!
Drivin’ off from Oakland City University…. here I go!!!
First Stop: Kansas City, MO! I had to see Kauffman Field… Royals vs Twins Friday Night!
Bonus: I got to see
Sydnee at the game!!!! I’m SO glad we got to meet up!
I played a little bit of ball with some Hall of Famer’s after the game…..

Famous 2nd baseman Frank White tried to get me out on the steal…but I was
SAFE!
Saturday, I made the drive from Kansas City,MO to Denver, CO…. and this is mostly what I saw for hours…
Then…. I saw the sign that was about to make all my childhood dreams come true once again…. would I stop?
Yes, Yes I would! I spent 45 minutes at prairie dog town! It’s a little po-dunk farm in the middle of no where. There is no where fun to stop for 3 hrs on Interstate 70 on either side of it… so it’s the perfect place for parents to take their kids to get them out of the car on a long roadtrip. As a result, little kids lives are changed forever. ๐ My life changed summer of 1993 when my parents stopped here with me and my brother… so I HAD to relive the memories. I paid 8 bucks to see this:
CAUTION: NEXT PHOTO MIGHT BE DISTURBING TO SOME PEOPLE!!!!
Ya, I know. There were three cows in this pin, all with deformities like this one.
*** Being the bio geek that I am… I know that these were supposed to be identical twins, but they never completely separated. Instead of being siamese twins, the one twin that didn’t develop enough to live on it’s own didn’t dying off completely, either. So, parts of the limbs still formed and stayed attached to the healthy animal. Now, this poor cow is forever doomed in the funny farm.
AND FINALLY…. the biggest prairie dog in the world….
There was more driving…. and Jesus decided to put on a show for me on the clouds. You might think I’m crazy…. which I know I am anyway… but this was definitely the cloud that Jesus posed on. It was hilarious. The heart on my window made the picture just perfect. ๐
Sunday: Denver, CO! It was faith day at Coor’s Field… Giants vs Rockies! Lincecum vs Jimenez…so it was an AWESOME game! I stayed with the Wedemeyer family, which was a blast! Erin and Ryan (the kiddos) and I had fun taking pictures, running around the field, and getting autographs with the BP ball I caught for Ryan!!
Monday’s drive: Denver to Nampa ID! More mountains on this drive- it was gorgeous!
In Idaho, I got to meet up with
Caiti in Twin Falls!! It was so good to see her, too! I was blessed with visiting two world racers on my roadtrip home… it was refreshing to talk about what God did and is still doing in our lives!
I stopped off to see a bit of Glenn’s Fairy, ID where the Oregon Trail has some history on the Snake River!
Snake River!
I got to hang out with Grandma Audra for a day… she’s awesome!
And on Wednesday, I drove the last stretch home to Modesto, CA!
It never fails… I always got stuck behind this junk…
So, that’s a glimpse of my roadtrip from Home to Home. ๐ I have a month in Cali before I launch with the L Squad in October! I’m sure I’ll have stories to share. I love you all!
