REE un Pah SAHAnkre Kaa!!! FREE!

Yesterday our team went around the town and passed out flyers saying this phrase to everyone we met.

This is the first phrase of Thai that I have learned, besides hello and thank you. It means,
“Study English!!” Free courses!

The ministry we’re partnering with these next few weeks is “Abundant Life Ministries,” with the Assemblies of God church here in Chiang Rai, Thailand. AND… Yes, we will be teaching two weeks of English courses to whoever wants to come. It is a little nerve racking to think we’ll be teaching English to these people when I can’t even communicate well that we’re TEACHING English. This will be interesting, for sure!

The church just finished building a new building, and it is BEAUTIFUL!  It’s very modern, and they are really excited to begin reaching out in their new location.  Our English courses are one of the first things they are doing here in this community, so we are very blessed to be apart of God’s work in this neighborhood!

The church LOVES having teams put on these English courses, because the locals would rather learn English from foreigners, and it gives the perfect opportunity to share the gospel. We almost felt like we were on parade when we were passing out flyers.   It’s like we were being walked around by our contacts, implying, “LOOK! WE HAVE WHITE PEOPLE WHO WILL TEACH YOU ENGLISH!”
The church encourages us to teach stories from the Bible and Bible songs as a part of the curriculum for the classes; sharing Jesus is the ultimate goal! I’m very excited to meet our students and begin building relationships with them!!
Pray that God will give us the lessons He wants us to teach!  This is definitely a new version of lesson planning for all of us!

Pray for Divine appointments for our team these next few weeks. Our time in Chiang Rai is a little shorter than some months, but I believe God has prepared the harvest!!
