Although our time in Prague was only 11 days, it was probably the country that God taught me the most about my calling as a worship leader. It was so awesome to have an outlet to lead worship with a piano/keyboard again! The nature of traveling on the world race makes it hard to keep up with my piano playing skills, so I’m usually the one singing with someone else playing on the guitar or drums!
I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve played keyboard on the race over the past 10 months, so I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be able to play very well. However, God rocked it every time. At IHOPP (International House of Prayer: Prague), our team led two night watches. These were all night worship/prayer/intercession times where I was on the keys for a few hour sets!
I wish I could write adequate words about how the evenings went, but I’m afraid I won’t do it much justice. I plan on writing some blogs about prophetic worship in the near future, but basically God came and moved and spoke in some really awesome ways. We worshiped Him with all our hearts and He came and met us.
The Holy Spirit revealed to us what was going on up in heaven, and we joined Him in praying and interceding over people and the land. It was awesome! We danced, sang, wept, rejoiced, laughed, and played instruments unto the Lord. We joined with the angel armies and claimed some victories unto the Lord!
It was probably the most intense spiritual warfare time I’ve experienced. With that, I experienced so much peace and joy; along with a heightened sense of discernment of what the Lord wanted me to pray and sing. I think it’s easy to overlook how much worship is a key component to defeating the enemy; but it’s crucial. When you worship the Lord, there’s nothing Satan can do to keep you from our Almighty God.
I encourage you to try it: next time you’re struggling, feeling sad, depressed, uncertain, whatever: WORSHIP GOD. When you don’t know what else to do, Praise the One who holds the universe in his hands. It changes your perspective to see once again what God is doing, and keeps you from being blinded by Satan’s lame attempts to get you off track with God.
We also led worship at Prague Christian Fellowship one Sunday, and also joined in several other IHOP sessions where other people led worship. Basically, we had a lot of time together in worship. It’s just a little rented room, with a handful of people, with a massive vision from an almighty God. I believe with all my heart that they are the beginning of a revival in Prague, and I’m really eager to see the pathway God chooses to bring this city back into His Glory. He’s raising up a generation of children warriors for His kingdom!
Aside from IHOP, we enjoyed the company of some amazing people! Our contacts, John and Kelsie Mullen, blessed us We had a campout/ sleepover at their house, with a BBQ one evening, a bonfire another evening, and just lots of encouragement and fellowship. They are both originally from the US, and have lived in Prague for 14 years! It’s really awesome to see people following the call of the Lord and serving faithfully like they do!
I celebrated the 4th of July by singing the National Anthem loud and proud in our hostel… along with passing out flag stickers, and eating a burger and a capri sun! I was SO excited to find a capri sun. 🙂 We are now safely in Moldova, serving with a sports ministry and music ministry! This is right up my alley. So far the people here are really friendly, and I love playing sports again! Pray for some open doors to share the Lord as we interact with the youth here!
Love you all; Nicole
