Most of you are racking your brains right now… “how does that song go, again?? Something about a corn cob pipe?”
Well, the basis of the story of Frosty is simple: he was just a snowman; a fairy tale they say. He was made of snow but the children know how He came to life one day.
I felt God’s heart when His children see him as nothing more than a fairy tale such as Frosty.
“I’m not just a fairy-tale; I’m not a lifeless statue on a bridge; I’m not just a legend; I’m not just an idea talked about in an old museum building that they call a cathedral or synagogue. I’m ALIVE! I’m real! Oh children, believe in me again! I’m your KING, and I’m violently in love with you!”
My heart just sank when I could feel God’s cry for His children here. Can you imagine; one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe; laced with statues and cathedrals that have image after image of the Lord of Lords everywhere; and yet no one knows who He is. No one knows the real story about what He did, is doing, and is going to do.
There’s a statue of a man on a cross, but they have no idea that He was a real person who came and walked on this earth, that He was both God and man, and died for THEM.
There’s old cathedrals everywhere, but their only museums now. If you asked someone on the street where you could go to worship, the word “worship” doesn’t really translate like we know it to mean.
I felt myself just praying and praying that God would become real once again to the people here; that His Holy Spirit would grip hearts of people as they glanced upon the thousands of reminders of his existence all around them.
Then, the idea was put out there, “Could this happen to America? People at least still know the story of Jesus even if they don’t really know Him, right?” I felt such an urgency in my heart.
Lord Jesus, I pray an awakening in your children! Come alive for them, Lord! You’re more than a statue, more than a legend. You are ALIVE! Holy Spirit, respond to every heart who ponders your reality as they walk the streets here. BECOME REAL IN THEIR HEARTS IN JESUS NAME! Sing and dance over your children; let them rejoice once again with You and before You.
