I’m realizing more and more how many billions of people around the world are crying out for someone to believe in them. It seems so simple, right? I was blessed to have a family and friends who believed in me from childhood; and I don’t take that lightly. I’m in the slim minority as far as it goes, really. I’ve heard that most girls who end up victims of human trafficking came from broken homes and families, running from one nightmare and wind up in a far greater one. What might have happened if someone, ANYONE, would have cared even a little bit? What would happened if we stepped out of our own world and believed in someone we might other wise assume was ‘not interested in me butting into their life?” What if we took responsibility for the children in our communities? The Lord is begging His people to quit listening to the lie in our heads saying “everyone has a right to live how they want” when a third of the human population are human slaves of some form and cannot choose this freedom.
I can’t relate personally to what some people have been through, but I DO know how to love. I know what it means to have the love of a father, of a mother, of a brother and sister, of a true friend.
What if we took it upon ourselves to INVEST our lives into one other person this year?
We might just change the world.
(Due to the violence and trauma that victims of sex trafficking suffer and its portrayal in the music video”Believe in Me,” we do not recommend children under 13 years of age viewing it without parents input and /or supervision.)
